DayZ Rules
DayZ-specific rules for general conduct, base building, and public servers.
General
Core conduct rules that apply across all DayZ servers.
Respectful Community
No toxicity, racism, nazism, homophobia, extremism, or political discussion — voice chat included. Admins can warn or ban at their discretion.
Cheating
Cheating results in a permanent ban with no appeal.
No Loot Cycling
Don’t cycle loot or intentionally ruin items to force respawns. It holds items on the server, causes lag, and breaks loot spawn tables.
Death Loot
Loot from your death stays on the ground for around 40 minutes and is free for anyone to take.
Base Codes
Don’t share base codes with anyone outside of your territory members.
Trader Zone
Don’t leave cars in the trader zone for more than 60 minutes — they will be deleted. Don’t log out here either, no refunds will be issued.
Team Limits
PvE: maximum 10 players per team. PvP: maximum 4.
Safezones
No camping, scamming, or stealing inside safezones.
Player Privacy
Don’t share other players’ base or location info. No in-game services for sale.
Staff Impersonation
Don’t impersonate staff or admins.
Loot Rooms During Restarts
Never be inside a loot room during a restart — you will get stuck.
No Log-Out Zones
Don’t try to log out in no-log-out zones — you’ll be teleported to a nearby location.
Base Building
Rules for placing and maintaining your base.
One Territory Per Team
Each team may only own one territory.
Location Distances
Minimum distances are measured from your fencing outward: paved roads 50m · small military 300m · large military 500m · traders 1km. Measure with in-game markers or iZurvive. Violations = warning plus 10 days to open a Discord ticket before deletion.
Restricted Build Zones
You can’t build in: Skalisty, Prison Island, cities, towns, military zones, custom-built locations, or high-profile loot buildings (medical, police, hunter cabins, small military).
Water Wells
Don’t block water wells.
Oversized Bases
Admins may require oversized bases to be downsized for server performance.
Not sure if your location is valid? Ask an admin to verify your base location before you start building. Items used or lost during the building process will not be refunded.
PvE
Rules specific to our PvE servers.
Player Damage
Player damage is disabled. Explosives are allowed against enemies only — never against other players.
No Raiding or Stealing
No raiding or stealing of any kind, including from unsecured containers.
Skalisty Bridge
Use the custom military bridge — don’t try to drive on it. Vehicles lost there won’t be refunded.
Loot Room Callouts
Call out when you’re about to open a loot room. Loot belongs to the keycard owner. Don’t hog rooms.
Airdrop Callouts
Call out airdrops when you see the red smoke.
PvP
Rules specific to our PvP servers — base building, raiding, combat, and conduct.
Base Building
No Exploit Builds
No broken boats, sky bases, or double walls.
Raidable Bases
All base sections must be accessible and raidable on foot.
Code Lock Limits
Up to 10 codelocks per gate or door, and 50 on base items.
Teaming
Team Size
Maximum 4 players per team. No sharing loot rooms, airdrops, raids, or player/raid intel between teams.
Friendly Interactions
You may trade in safezones, tour bases (no code sharing), or choose not to kill neighbours — but you cannot actively defend other parties.
Griefing
No Off-Raid Camping
No camping of any kind outside of an active raid.
Post-Raid Behavior
After a raid: no placing locks, building inside, taking over, despawning loot, or trapping players.
Camping Hotspots
No camping or sniping at: airstrips, military zones, medical spawns, water wells, spawn beaches, loot rooms, or airdrops.
Raiding
What Counts as Raiding
Raiding means breaching doors or gates, or sawing/screwdriving locked crates or tents.
Raid Duration
Raids last 4 hours from the first breach.
Raid Frequency
One raid per day per team. No consecutive raids on the same player.
Damage Limits
Only break what’s needed to get in. No building, boosting via car or terrain, or glitching to enter.
Inside Enemy Bases
Don’t log out inside enemy bases or touch their flag.
Counter-Raids
A second group may counter-raid an active raid — but must not cross into teaming.
No Mid-Raid Building
During a raid: no building or adding locks to block entry. You may counter though.
Rebuilding
Rebuilding is allowed once 30 minutes have passed with no explosion — raiders may still return within their 4-hour window.
Combat
No Combat Logging
Stay in-game for 3 minutes after combat ends. Repeat offences will result in a ban.
Vehicles
Cars, helicopters, and no-vehicle zones.
Bugs and Refunds
Vehicles are buggy by nature — use at your own risk. Admins may reimburse on PvE at their discretion.
Helicopters
Helicopters are used at your own risk. No refunds for crashes or bugs.
Helicopter Landing
No landing on Skalisty or Prison Island, and don’t land right next to loot rooms.
No-Vehicle Zones
In areas with a no-vehicle zone notification, you have 60 seconds to vacate or risk ruining your engine, battery, and sparkplug.
Military Markers
Map marker legend for base building distance rules.
Red
500m in-game distance from large military bases.
Yellow
300m in-game distance from smaller military camps.
Black
Trader locations (1 km distance).
Zone Map

Towns, Cities & Medical Buildings
These are not marked on the map. Check your in-game map to confirm whether you are in a restricted location. You can build in other buildings if they are not covered by the building rules above.
Measure everything with in-game markers or with iZurvive.
